Bridge $G7 on GetSome Guide
Step-by-step $G7 bridging guide
Note: For developers looking to bridge tokens across testnet environments, please access our developer bridging guide at the Game7 DevHub.
What is Bridging?
Bridging lets you move your tokens between different blockchain networks. For example, you can move your $G7 tokens between:
G7 Network
Ethereum
Arbitrum One
Your Bridging Options
Game7 offers three ways to bridge tokens, each designed for different needs:
Best for: First-time users wanting to get $G7 tokens
Key feature: Can swap other tokens (like ETH, ARB, USDC, TRUMP) directly to $G7
Speed: Instant
Where: getsome.game7.io
Best for: Moving tokens out of G7 Network quickly
Speed: Instant
Cost: 2.5% fee when bridging out of G7 Network (Fees are sent to Citizen Pool)
Where: build.game7.io/relay
Best for: Transfers where security is crucial
Speed: 7-day waiting period when withdrawing
Cost: Free
Where: build.game7.io/bridge
getsome (Recommended for acquiring $G7)
getsome allows users with any tokens on EVM chains (i.e., ETH on Ethereum, USDC on Arbitrum, APE on Apechain), to immediately swap the tokens for $G7 of equivalent value on the G7 Network. It is the fastest and most convenient form of bringing value to the G7 Network for use across Game7 ecosystem products, such as $G7 Staking.
How to Use getsome
Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
Navigate to getsome.game7.io
Click Press Me Connect your wallet (like MetaMask)
Step 2: Choose Network and Token
From the list on the right, you will see all of the supported networks and your balances across these networks in the supported tokens (such as ETH on Arbitrum, or USDC on Ethereum)
Select a token from a network where you have a positive balance. This token will either bridge (if $G7) or swap and bridge to $G7.
In the pop-up UI, input the amount of the selected asset you want to bridge in the From field (this will be set to the token and network you had previously selected)
The To field will automatically update to the equivalent amount of $G7
Step 3: Execution
Wait for the transfer route to finalize (above the Review button), click Review
Review the quote (this will present information such as the transaction cost, and the price impact on the token being swapped into i.e. $G7), and click Swap
You will now be prompted to confirm a transaction in your wallet
Once confirmed, wait for the transaction to complete
The bridged tokens will be sent to you on the same wallet address that you bridge from, with the only difference being that they will be on the network you selected to bridge to.
Transfer Route: When bridging tokens with a swap included, the swap action will select to use tokens from existing supplies on the networks. The route is the supplies it will use.
Quote: As with all transactions, there is a transaction fee or gas fee required, the transaction fee will be determined by the network, the congestion on the network, and the route.
Game7 Relay Bridge (Quick Bridge Out)
IMPORTANT: You must have ETH on the destination network (Ethereum or Arbitrum) to pay gas fees for any transfers you want to make after bridging (like sending to an exchange.)
The Game7 Relay is a third-party bridge that also supports swapping of tokens during the bridging action, similar to getsome, but with the ability to bridge out of the G7 Network.
Bridging with Game7 Relay is instant. It avoids any challenge period imposed by the Arbitrum network, which is a security measure to ensure only valid transactions are finalized. The challenge period is typically 7-days. To bypass the challenge period, Relay allows for tokens to be bridged immediately. But there is a small fee (2.5%) on bridging out of the G7 Network when using Relay which will be transferred to the Citizen Pool.
Step-by-Step Guide
Go to the Game7 Bridge and select “Relay Bridge”
Note: You can switch to the Canonical Bridge by clicking "Bridge" in the menu or clicking "Bridge with Canonical"
Connect your wallet: Click Connect Wallet and connect your supported wallet, such as MetaMask
Note: The above would bridge USDC on Arbitrum and swap to G7 on the G7 Network
Choose your networks: Select the networks that you want to bridge From and To via the drop down under each category
Note: Relay allows for bridging the same token between networks, but also supports a swap. For example, it is possible to bridge USDC on Ethereum to G7 on the Network G7 via the Game7 Relay Bridge.
Choose your tokens: Select the tokens that you want to bridge From, and the token you want to bridge To, and input the amount in either field (the other field will automatically update based on current market prices).
Note: Once the tokens and amounts have been set, and Route and gas fee will be displayed
Click "Review" to see the fees: Click Review to see the full Quote, this is essentially the fee for the transaction, and confirm by clicking Swap.
Note: The Quote will update with a new fee if the transaction is not executed, to ensure true market values are being used
Click "Swap" and confirm in your wallet: Complete the transaction by confirming in your connected wallet.
Note: If you have not used the Game7 Relay Bridge before you will need to approve the bridge to transfer the token you will bridge from
The selected tokens will now be received on your selected network. You can now view the status of the completed transaction by clicking View Details.
The bridged tokens will be sent to you on the same wallet address that you bridge from, with the only difference being that they will be on the network you selected to bridge to.
As Relay is a third-party application, any issues encountered during the bridging process should be directed to the Relay team for resolutions.
Canonical Bridge (Most Secure)
On the Game7 DevHub, users can also utilize the Game7 Canonical Bridge for bridging the $G7 token between Ethereum, Arbitrum and G7 Network. The Canonical Bridge also allows for bridging of tokens between testnets for these three networks.
It should be noted that when bridging tokens out of the G7 Network via the Canonical Bridge, there is a 7-Day wait time before the tokens are received. To learn more about the Canonical Bridge, you can read the Game7 DevHub Docs.
