# Diamonds Guide

## What are Diamonds?

Diamonds are an offchain, non-transferable reward granted to citizens who stake $G7. They function as an in-app currency within the Game7 ecosystem, allowing citizens to purchase G7 Boxes, which contain rewards from the [Citizen Pool](https://learn.game7.io/tokenomics/usd1-000-000-citizen-pool).&#x20;

## Getting Diamonds

### <mark style="color:red;">**1. Staking $G7 to Accrue Diamonds**</mark>

Diamonds are gained primarily through staking **$G7** in the [Game7 Portal](https://app.game7.io). Your Diamonds balance **updates every 24 hours**, which means the first Diamonds will be issued to stakers 24 hours after staking opens.

The number of Diamonds accrued daily depends on:

* **Staking duration**: Longer staking periods offer higher Diamond multipliers (up to 3x, if you stake for 180 days).
* **Amount staked:** Diamonds are accrued relative to the total $G7 staked
* **Game7 Portal Level:** Higher Game7 Portal Levels increase reward multipliers (up to an additional 2x, if you reach level 10).

The base emission rate is **1 Diamond per $G7 staked per day**, with the following multiplier rate depending on the duration of the stake:

* **45 days**: 1.25x multiplier
* **90 days**: 1.5x multiplier
* **180 days**: 3x multiplier

Higher Game7 Portal Levels also increase your Diamond multiplier:

* Level 1 :  0&#x20;
* Level 2 :  +0.1&#x20;
* Level 3:  +0.2&#x20;
* Level 4 :  +0.3&#x20;
* Level 5:  +0.4&#x20;
* Level 6 :  +0.5&#x20;
* Level 7 :  +0.6
* **Level 8**:  +0.7 (coming soon)
* **Level 9**:  +0.8 (coming soon)
* **Level 10**:  +0.9 (maximum) (coming soon)

### <mark style="color:red;">2. Adding Liquidity to Accrue Diamonds</mark>

Adding Liquidity to the Camelot DEX on the G7 Network in specific pools - such as **$G7/USDC** - will also accrue Diamonds. The amount of Diamonds received will depend on the amount of $G7 rewards accrued from adding liquidity, with the base rate being 4 Diamonds per-$G7 rewarded.&#x20;

The Diamonds will only be issued to your account when you withdraw your LP rewards. You will need an account on the Game7 Portal using the same wallet you LP’d with in order to receive reward Diamonds.&#x20;

## Spending Diamonds

Diamonds are the only way to purchase **G7 Boxes**, which contain prizes drawn from the [Citizen Pool](https://learn.game7.io/tokenomics/usd1-000-000-citizen-pool), a growing collection of onchain rewards such as tokens and NFTs, as well as additional Diamonds.&#x20;

The Diamond cost of G7 Boxes updates daily based on supply and demand of the boxes, but every G7 Box contains some reward, either in the form of Diamonds or tokens like USDC.&#x20;

### G7 Boxes

* **Contents**: Each G7 Box includes rewards such as USDC (ranging from **$1 to $1000**) or additional **Diamonds**. One box per day will contain a special $1,000 USDC jackpot so don’t miss out! Future prizes may include partner game tokens, rewards from LootDrop partners, special NFTs, and $G7.
* **Box Slots**: Citizens begin with one slot to purchase G7 Boxes and can unlock up to four slots by leveling up or purchasing a slot sooner with $G7:
  * Slot 2: Unlocked at Level 3
  * Slot 3: Unlocked at Level 5
  * Slot 4: Unlocked at Level 7

After purchasing a box, a **12-hour countdown timer** starts before you can open the G7 Box and free up a slot.&#x20;

We incorporated the timer and box slot mechanics so that people cannot stack too many G7 Boxes at once. We want everyone to get the chance to buy G7 Boxes and win prizes.

Citizens will also be able to spend **$G7** to open their G7 Boxes immediately.

## Key Features and Mechanics

### <mark style="color:red;">1. Game7 Portal Level System</mark>

Game7 Portal Level directly impacts the number of Diamonds gained daily. Progressing to higher levels increases Diamond multipliers for a player within 24 hours of leveling up and also unlocks additional G7 Box slots at levels 3, 5, and 7.

### <mark style="color:red;">2. Supply and Demand</mark>

The price of G7 Boxes updates daily based on the number of available G7 Boxes and buyer demand. The dynamic pricing means there’s always an incentive to watch for price dips and pick up a G7 Box for your desired Diamond price. In the beginning, the price of a G7 Box will update every 24 hours. In the future, G7 Box pricing will work on a bonding curve, except price reduction will be driven by time rather than selling G7 Boxes back into the curve. &#x20;

### <mark style="color:red;">3. Conditions</mark>

* Diamonds and G7 Boxes are off-chain and non-transferable.
* Citizens must maintain an empty slot to purchase a new G7 Box. Once you’ve purchased a box, you’ll need to wait to open it, and then do so to free up the slot for your next G7 Box purchase.&#x20;

### What is the Citizen Pool?

*The Citizen Pool is a core element of Game7's economy, capturing 80% of all value generated by the Game7 ecosystem and distributing it to the Game7 community.*

*The Citizen Pool will be filled with many different assets, including USDC, rewards from partner gaming companies (such as in-app assets), 20% of any LootDrop rewards, gaming assets developed by Game7 (such as rare avatar items), DEX liquidity and marketplace fees, and other exclusive gaming merchandise.*&#x20;

### Can I trade or transfer Diamonds?

*No, G7 Boxes are account bound and cannot be transferred or sold.*&#x20;

### How much does a G7 Box cost in Diamonds?&#x20;

*The Diamond cost of a G7 Box changes each day depending on the previous day’s supply and demand.*

### Can I open a G7 Box immediately?&#x20;

*G7 Boxes open on a timer. Once a G7 Box is purchased, it can be opened 12 hours later. $G7 can be used to buy down this timer and open immediately.*

### If I receive USDC, which network will I receive it on?&#x20;

*The USDC will be sent to your Game7 Portal connected wallet on the G7 Network.*

### Will all onchain rewards be on the G7 Network?&#x20;

*In the future, as the Citizen Pool grows, it will also include tokens and content from non-G7 Network based projects. Where these rewards will be available will depend on the project.*&#x20;

### Can I buy Diamonds?&#x20;

*No, Diamonds cannot be purchased.*

### How does the G7 Box supply work?&#x20;

*Boxes are “packed” with different rewards and then randomly put into circulation for purchase with Diamonds. No one – not even the team – knows what box a user will get. The number of boxes varies per day based on supply and demand, and long-term the number of boxes is based on supply, demand, and the size of the Citizens Pool.*
